It's a.......baby!

My appointment went well this morning. The ultrasound showed a very healthy baby (insert gender here) with a strong heartrate of 159. The ultrasound tech refused to guess as to the sex, so we have to wait until August 12 to find out. It will be a loooonnng 6 weeks! It was so fun to watch Baby C wiggle and wave at us - definitely an active baby! His/her little hands and feet were going crazy! They also did a preliminary test for down's syndrome and there were no red flags, so that is good.

Yes, I realize the last one kinda looks like an alien! I promise we're having a human baby.

As for me, I have gained 1 pound. They say you are supposed to gain 2 - 5 in the first trimester, so I'm not too far behind the curve. My only complaint right now is back pain which is leading to lack of sleep, but my doctor gave me some remedies for that, so we'll see if they work!

My next check up is August 5th.
