It's gonna be a HAPPY new year!

So I walked into the doctor's office being 7 weeks and 4 days and walked out being 9 weeks! That's right, my due date is now December 31, 2008!

The appointment went great. My favorite part was definitely the ultrasound - it took the nurse a little while to find my uterus (it is apparently tilted), but once she did, we saw that little heart fluttering at a strong 162 bpm. She also found a 2 cm cyst on my right ovary, but apparently it isn't a big deal.

Corbin and I both love my doctor. She is really down to earth and is committed to getting us that tax break!

My next appointment is June 26th and I get another ultrasound!

Six weeks down - lots more to go!

Things here are pretty much the same in the 7th week. I am over halfway through the first trimester which is exciting! The baby is still teeny tiny (5/8 of an inch) so I'm not going to have to purchase any lovely maternity clothes for a while.

I am so ready for this next week to be over with! My appointment is on Wednesday afternoon, and provided everything goes well, we will be telling the rest of our family/friends after that. I think we are making the big announcement in church next Sunday, which should be interesting!

Since this is a long weekend, we will be taking advantage of it by working on some stuff around the house. (i.e. fixing the deck, making the yard pretty, ridding this house of dog hair). Buster will be an exclusively outside dog once the baby comes, so we're going to work on making him a nice little cubby under the deck!

Six weeks and baby names...

I have made it past the six week mark! More importantly, I have managed to keep being pregnant a secret to everyone except our immediate family...this is a huge accomplishment for me! Only 2 more weeks!

This past weekend, Corbin and I went to Chattanooga to see his brother and family. To pass time on the way there we discussed baby names which pretty much consisted of:

Me: How about (insert name)?
Corbin: No!
Corbin: Do you like (insert name)?
Me: Um...no.

I have a feeling this baby might remain nameless for quite some time. We did manage to get a short list of "maybe's" so, we'll see.

I have felt a bit more pregnant these past few days - rather exhausted and sick, but I'll take it as long as everything is going the way it is supposed to. I'll find out next Wednesday at my appointment!

Five weeks!

I am five weeks today! According to my little ticker, the baby's little heart will start beating this week! So far I am feeling pretty good - just a few random bits of nausea if I don't keep my belly full and I have to go to the bathroom every 30 mins. THAT is annoying! I've found that I feel worse if I don't work out in the mornings, so I am going to keep that up for as long as I possibly can. Below is my 5 week belly shot:

I know, I know, I'm not showing at all. This is more to serve as a "before" picture - and as motivation for 8 months from now.

Corbin and I will be telling my parents tonight and his parents tomorrow afternoon! Soooo excited!

Ch Ch Changes

The rumors are true! Corbin and I found out on Sunday, May 4th (also the 6th anniversary of us being together) that we are going to have a baby! We are so excited and feel so blessed that God has chosen to give us such an awesome responsibility! According to my math, we are due around January 11, 2009.

I have heard of people having a blog to document their pregnancy/the baby, and I thought it would be a good idea since we have so many friends/relatives that live out of town and won't have the pleasure of seeing me get super fat!

As of today, the only people that know about this are me and Corbin...but we are planning on telling our parents and siblings on Sunday (Mother's Day!). My first appointment is Wednesday, May 28th...we will probably tell the rest of the free world after that.
