Carter's First (not really) Christmas!!

I realize that this past Christmas was not Carter's first, seeing as he was born on the 22nd, but to be honest with you, last Christmas was TERRIBLE. It was after our first night home from the hospital in which Carter didn't fall asleep until 9:00 a.m. Yes, you read that right. Needless to say, Christmas 2008 was quite the blur for me!

So this Christmas I was pretending was Carter's first. He actually slept in a little (yay!) but we were excited when he finally woke up! Of course he went straight for the toys. We wrapped everything but his big stuff.

After we showed him what the toolbench did, he seemed to enjoy it. What kid wouldn't enjoy beating on things with a plastic hammer though?

The he had to test out his little walk-n-ride toy! There is one of those toys in the church nursery and he pushes and pushes, so I knew it would be a hit.

Of course he had waffles for breakfast again, but this time Daddy drug his high chair into the living room so he could watch his new Veggie Tales DVD while he ate.

After Carter's morning nap we headed to Mimi and Papa's house! Carter got lots of fun things! Since he is such a good walker, he pretty much tottled from one toy to another the whole time.

He did sit to let Uncle Mitchell read him one of his new books! The next stop was my parent's house. He had too much fun opening there as well and exploring all of his new toys. He didn't last too long though, as it was nearing his nap time!! All the present opening must have wore him out as he slept over 2 hours!

Christmas isn't Christmas without a photoshoot by the tree, of course. (Corbin isn't in any of these pictures because he was sick on Christmas and feeling awful...and thus napped the afternoon away himself!)

The last stop of the evening was my Grandma's house to visit with my Mom's side of the family and eat supper. I didn't take any pictures there (sorry), but Carter had a big time. His cousins (my cousin's kids) played with him and they had a ball. They are all older than him, and I had to pull him off of them a few times because he was being too rough. We definitely have a BOY on our hands!!

We had a fabulous Christmas and it is definitely true that it is so much better with children! I am so excited for Carter to get older and we can teach him the TRUE meaning of Christmas. We are so thankful to God for blessing us with our precious gift, but are most thankful for the gift of his Son.
