Carter next doctor's appointment (after the breathing treatment fiasco) was his 15 month checkup. He is slowly but surely getting bigger! The doctor was mostly impressed, however, with his vocabulary. I knew that Carter was chatty, but it was fun to know that a professional categorized him as "advanced"!
I won't even try to list all the words he is saying now, but there are a few that he says in his own special way that is just too cute. Here are some examples:
car - cahhhh
airplane - airpane
look - ook (sounds like "look" but with no "l")
zebra - beeza
ribit (as in what a frog says) - ibit (seriously it sounds SO cute)
lion - yiyon
please - peeeese
i love you - wuv oooo
milk - muk
bath - baf
medicine - bedicine
coupon - pucon (I apparently say that word more than I thought!)
here you go - ee ee goooo
peek a boo - peek a gooo (peek and a are really high pitched and then gooo is low - ha!)
plum - pum
Graham (Carter's best friend) - Gam
Ashley (Graham's Mom) - Ashy
Micah (Graham's Dad) - Meekahhh
Oscar (the grouch) - Oker
Zoe (Sesame Street Character) - Showy
And then there are words that he says clear as day! But of course the one word we CANNOT get him to say is his own name. Whenever we ask him what his name is he points to himself and says "name!". When he does repeat his name (after we say it 3 or 4 times) it comes out - "Cahcuhh". It's rather obvious that little man hasn't mastered the "r" sound yet!! Too bad his name is full of them!
