This 4th of July we went out on Lake Murray with some of our friends! It was Carter's first time on a boat and BOY was he excited!!

This picture was taken AFTER he completely freaked out when the boat started moving! Ha! He did not like the wind blowing in his face at all. Such a diva! If the boat was sitting still or moving slow he was a happy camper, but once we sped up, he was terrified. So funny!
This trip was also Carter's first time wearing a life jacket. I have to tell this story. We went to Wal-Mart the week before to buy Carter's life jacket. We tried it on him and he loved it! He didn't want to take it off, so we continued shopping with Carter wearing his life jacket!

Carter had a fun time swimming in the lake. I thought he might be a little scared, but he was all for it! He's my little water baby!
Carter also got to go tubing with his Daddy for the first time! I was so proud of him! He loved it and even wanted to ride all by himself. Maybe in a couple more years...

Don't worry, we were going at a snails pace! (This video is horrible quality...sorry!)

Hey look! I was there too!

Here is Carter and sweet Aisley watching the Daddy's swim!

A couple more noteable firsts: This was Carter's first time going to the bathroom in some place other than the bathroom. He's been potty trained for the past couple of months and I was curious how he would do. He's such a good boy! He would NOT go in the lake. It was so funny - it was like he knew that it was un-natural. He just kept saying "I can't go! I can't go!" Bless his heart. He did eventually go...in the boat.
Carter also got to experience his first day without a nap. He was not grumpy at ALL and only had one meltdown later that evening.
It was such a fun 4th of July! You might notice that someone was missing from the festivities! Levi was celebrating our freedom with my parents - out of the sun and the heat. I can't wait until he is big enough to go out on the lake with us!
