Our annual trip to the fair was a much anticipated day! We went with the Thompsons and Martins, as is our custom. Levi stayed with my Mom as we went during his nap time, and I figured it wouldn't be that much fun for him anyway. Carter and Graham were rather excited to see each other!
They were ready to ride!! Unfortunately, they are both still too short (only an INCH) for a lot of the rides, but there was still a good amount of stuff for them to ride.

Sweet Hudson watched most of the festivities!

But he got his turn on a ride with the boys! This was a favorite ride last year.

Next up a ride with Mommy on the carousel!

This was Aisley's first ride!
While we were on the carousel, Carter kept saying that he wanted to ride the caterpillar. I didn't see a caterpillar ride anywhere until we got off. Then I saw it...it was a roller coaster! I was amazed that he even wanted to ride it, but figured he was too short.
But as you can see, he was NOT too short, and even after seeing the ride up close, my brave boy wanted to ride his first roller coaster.
I was worried that he might get scared, but he LOVED it and asked to ride it again! So glad to know that my boy likes rides like me and Corbin! Hopefully Levi will be the same way.

We stopped for lunch and Carter got to enjoy a corndog while the rest of us munched on the fabulous fair food. I won't even go into how much that stuff cost, but it was worth it and soooo good!
Carter enjoyed looking at all of the animals! These little chicks were on sale for only $4. I couldn't convince Corbin to buy me one.

Here is this year's sand sculpture. It's the best one I've seen! (It's the South Carolina state house for those who aren't from here!)
We had a great time and I am excited for next year so all of our family can go!

Zoo Part 2!
Here is the continuation of zoo pictures!

Uncle Phil and Carter!
Before we left Mimi and Papa got the big kids a couple surprises from the gift shop. I think it is safe to say that everyone enjoyed their time at the zoo!

Cousin Zoo Day
Corbin's brother and family came into town for a visit late September. It just so happened to be the best time to go to the zoo since it was a week day and the weather was nice!
This is pretty much how my pictures turn out these days - one with Levi looking cute:
aaaand one with Carter looking cute:
The kids had a great time exploring everything! The zoo is one of Carter's favorite places - his favorite game to play is "Think of animal at the zoo" which basically consists of him saying that and me telling him names of animals. Goes something like this:

Carter: Mommy, think of animal at the zoo!
Me: Ummm, a zebra!
Me: Ummm, a zebra!
Carter: Yep, zebra's at the zoo!
Clearly this is a game he made up!

Food Time!
Levi turned 6 months on October 4, but I started him on food a little before that. The way he STARED at our food when we ate supper, and opened his mouth as I put the fork in my mouth...I knew he was ready!
We started with (homemade) sweet potatoes, which was Carter's first food as well. He did pretty good, with a few funny faces and gags, as expected!
And yes, more of it got on his face than actually in his belly!
Here is a little video:

Now that we are a month into food eating, it is safe to say that my boy is an EATER. He has tried virtually everything and has not met a food that he doesn't like (even prunes!).Monday, October 31, 2011
Fun with Kristen & Fall Weather!
My sister came to visit a month or so ago. I particularly enjoyed it because I took her grocery shopping with me and she pushed the boys in one cart while I sped through the grocery store and focused on my list!
Carter of course was adamant that she play with him in his "play woom". I think it's safe to say that they had fun!

I'm pretty sure it was back to 85 degrees the next day, but I enjoyed it while it lasted!
