30 weeks...

Holy cow! I almost didn't post this picture because it just scared me. Maybe the horizontal stripes make me look bigger than I really am? And I still have 10 weeks left!!! I think I might topple over before it is all said and done.

Well it doesn't need to be said that baby boy is still a'growin'! His movements are becoming more and more on the painful side - especially when he gets up into my rib region, but overall, things are still going well as far as I know. Getting out of the bed at 6 am every morning to work out is becoming more and more of a chore - not only is it hard for me to just get my big self out of bed, but my back is not feeling so hot these days. Plus, exercising just isn't as fun when I have this extra 20 pounds on me! I'm hoping that I can keep at it for at least another 5 weeks. We'll see!

My 30 week appointment is Friday, so I will give y'all an update then!

Shower Time!!

My very first baby shower was yesterday (Sunday) and it was absolutely fabulous! My aunts went above and beyond to make this a super cute and super fun occasion and I cannot thank them enough! I/Carter got TONS of stuff off our registry, which makes me feel so much more prepared for him to come. I wish I had time to take a picture of every single gift! Here are some pictures (I'm hoping my sister will send me some more to add later!...hint hint Kristen):

The wonderful gifts! We are sooo blessed!

Sorry this is a little dark. The desserts were fabulous! I have to get a close up of the cupcakes my Aunt Gail made...oh my goodness so cute!

I was excited about eating! (Hydrangeas, my favorite flower, were everywhere!)

Me opening gifts!
Probably my favorite thing that I got at the shower were books for Carter! Everyone got him their favorite childhood book or just a book they thought he would like and wrote him a little note inside. I know these are books that he is going to have forever. Of course, being the English major nerd that I am, he is going to have A LOT of books and hopefully will love reading as much as I do! Carter's Mimi (Corbin's mom) also passed down some of Corbin's favorite books as a child!

Thank you to EVERYONE who was able to make it on Sunday! You will never know how much Corbin and I appreciate your love and kindness during this time. I cannot wait for you all to meet him!

29 weeks!

Another week has flown by! Everything seems to be going well. I did end up going back to the doctor yesterday after I was afraid that I might be leaking amniotic fluid (not a good thing). My doctor said that she would rather be safe and rule out ruptured membranes, so I went in. Everything turned out a-ok and she sent me on my way (not without me waiting, of course...)! I am also assuming that I passed my glucose test as they haven't told me otherwise. I also weighed .3 of a pound less than I did on Friday, so that thrilled me for some reason!

Carter is still doing wonderful - he's been a little wiggle worm this week! When I was trying to go to sleep on Monday night he was practicing his dance moves or something, so Corbin used some of his daddy skills to get him to calm down. It didn't work, but Corbin did get a kick (no pun intended) out of him going crazy in my belly.

My first shower is on Sunday and to say that I am excited is an understatement!! I will definitely make sure lots of pictures are taken!

Glucola Goodness

This was the most frustrating morning I've had in a while - was at the doctor for 2 1/2 hours for a 10 minute exam! I got there at 9:00 and took my lovely glucola beverage. It really wasn't that bad, just basically tasted like an extra sweet orange soda. I then went in an exam room and waited for about 30 minutes when they told me my doctor had been called to L&D - so then they took me to ANOTHER doctor's exam room where I sat and waited again. Then since my hour waiting period was up for my glucola the nurse came and got me to take my blood. I have wonderful veins, so that was no problem. Went BACK to the room and waited 45 more minutes when I decided to poke my head out the door and see what was up - the nurse told me that they just had two "complicated patients" in a row...so the doctor would be in soon. About 15 minutes later the doctor finally came in, apologized, and did her thing.

Carter is doing just fine, although he kept moving away from the doppler when she was trying to get to his heartbeat - he was probably just getting the doctor back since his mommy had to wait so long! That's my boy - revenge!

Oh yeah - and I gained another 5 pounds. Love it.

I now have to see the doctor every 2 weeks. My blood test results should be back by Tuesday!

28 weeks and the nursery!!

Another week down...

I am now well into my 7th month of pregnancy and still cannot believe that Carter will be here very soon! I am feeling better than I thought I would at this point. I get winded easily and feel rather lazy, but I guess since I'm carrying around an extra 15 pounds on my front side, it is to be expected. Carter is moving around still, but I'm sure he'll be running out of room soon and slowing down.

Before I get to the picture of my large self, we have exciting news...our furniture is put together!! I was hoping we would do it last night since the rest of our week/weekend is booked up. So, we turned on the presidential debate (to serve as a reminder that there was nothing to watch on TV) and went to work while sporadically yelling at the candidates. We are super civilized, clearly.

Here is our finished product:

(I couldn't resist sprucing up the crib with some of our bedding - even though we don't have a mattress yet and it is a little wrinkled)

(That's not where his name is going, but again...I couldn't resist) The dresser is strategically placed to cover up a spot on the carpet where my husband, who was being awesome and cleaning the carpet, accidentally grabbed the CLOROX bottle instead of the carpet cleaner. So yeah, our carpet has a little bleach spot, but it's clean!

A special thanks to my mom and dad (otherwise known as Grandma and Grandpa) for buying us Carter's crib! I know that he will love it for the many many years he will use it!!

Okay - now on to the not so exciting, and not nearly as cute 28 week belly picture. I blame all weight gain these past 2 weeks on my mother-in-law who has been bringing "Carter" a new baked good each week (seriously - banana bread, cookies, cupcakes). My taste buds thank you...my thighs do not!

My 28 week appointment is Friday - so I assume I'll be back then with my doctor's opinion on how things are going!

Hiccups!

So I am sitting here at work and am feeling Carter punch me in some pretty impressive syncopation when I realized that he wasn't punching me, he has the hiccups! It is so cute! I know that I HATE it when I get the hiccups, so I hope it doesn't bother him as much as it does me. Just thought I'd share that with y'all!

(Corbin has since suggested that I hold my breath and see if that helps! Hmmm...for some reason I think not!)

Oh, and we bought our nursery furniture this weekend - I will of course take pictures as soon as we have it all assembled! I love it!

Hello third trimester!!

I am officially in the last trimester of this pregnancy!! I can't believe how fast things have gone and how I am now only 10 weeks away from being full term (my doctor will not stop labor if I go after 37 weeks). I feel....decent. My belly does tend to get in the way a bit more and I am having more random aches and pains, but overall, I must say that I am blessed that things are still going as well as they are. I am especially thankful that sleeping is still going well for me - of course Carter is a smart boy and he knows that between the hours of 11pm and 6 am he needs to calm down! :) haha...we'll see how long that lasts!

I had a wonderful surprise at work on Monday when my aunt Gail came by and brought me the CUTEST clothes for Carter from her and my aunt Connie! Of course, I have pictures...

Connie got me these outfits - precious!!

Gail brought me these:

And these!
Just look at the little rear end on this one!!

Thank you guys sooooo much!! I cannot wait to put him in these!! I love that his closet is getting so full!

Also, I thought I'd share a cute picture of our firstborn...last Thursday, I was watching my show (Grey's Anatomy) in the living room and Corbin was watching his (The Office) in the bedroom. Buster is NOT, I repeat NOT allowed on our bed, but for some reason Corbin likes to put him up there just to bug me. So I go back to the bedroom to take a potty break and this is what I saw:

Corbin claims that Buster "just jumped up there"...riiiiiight! Gotta love those guilty looks. What am I going to do with THREE boys?!?!
