Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

Yeah - that's the fancy name for the symptoms Carter has been experiencing lately. Poor little man has been spitting up like a champ and fussing a lot during and after eating (along with many other not-so-fun things), so I began to get worried. After A LOT of research (I think I read 2 books and found the end of the internet) I thought that maybe he had reflux, so I called the doctor and they said for us to come in.

It is very common among newborns, and although there is no real medicine for it, they put him on Zantac to lower the acidity in his stomach so that it won't hurt him so much when his meal comes back up. Hopefully this will make him a much happier baby - just in time for me to leave him during the day (grrrr!)!

On a MUCH HAPPIER note! Guess how much my little boy weighs?!? 7 lbs 8.5 ounces!! That's right, he has gained 2 pounds since his last appointment, less than 4 weeks ago. I am so proud!
